*****NEW Red Skelton Show with Bela Lugosi and Vampira
This DVD contains rare kinescopes of three episodes of the Red Skelton Show with celebrity guests pulled from the archives! 1. Broadcast - January 18, 1955
Guest Stars: Peter Lorre and Vampira. Peter Lorre takes the role of Ralph Kramden in a spoof of The Honeymooners. Red plays a slightly overdone Ed Norton and Vampira plays Alice. 2. Broadcast - June 15, 1954 Guest Stars: Bela Lugosi, Vampira and Lon Chaney Jr. The Bela/Lon/Vampira skit is great."Dial B for Brush" comprises most of the show, taking place on three different sets (home lab, graveyard, and morgue with working Jacob's ladder) which are pretty elaborate for TV. There's also an ambitious dance-routine (giving band leader David Rose a chance to shine) with ghosts and skeletons double-exposed into the graveyard set. Clem Kadiddlehopper, for those who've never seen Red's character, is a Lou Costello without a brain to steal, though that doesn't stop Bela as "Prof. Lugosi" from trying. He wears a tux under his lab coat, and does the graveyard scene with Lon and Vampira in his Dracula cape. Lon barks like a dog, wears furry claws and wolf fangs.
3. Broadcast - November 23, 1954 Guest Star: Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis appear to discuss the Muscular Dystrophy campaign.
